SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL (Best ways to walk or bike to school)

SMART goals for each grade level (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic & Timely)

Solar Summary

Bishop Elementary playground.jpg Bishop Elementary School serves approximately 830 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.  We are nestled at the base of the Eastern Sierra in a spectacular setting. Our school includes a dual language immersion strand (Spanish) K-5.  Art and music are respected as imperative to a well-educated

and civilized society and we are committed to offering these fine arts at every grade level.  Fifth grade students may choose to begin instrumental band instruction.  Some options available for enrichment include the Noetic math competition, History Day, Science Fair, and a myriad of other educational and cultural activities. Many of our staff and students participate in Playhouse 395, a community theater project. We celebrate reading through Read Across America/Read Across Bishop activities, and the Battle of the Books competition. We celebrate our environment by recycling and harnessing the power of the sun to provide electricity for our school (see photos of our new solar panels--coming soon!) We are a PeaceBuilder school and belive that kindess and hard work will help us rise to greatness. We believe celebration of talents and character should be a daily occurrence, and we work diligently to make this a creative, wholesome, wonderful place to be.
